BAE Systems is top weapons seller for 2008

Stockholm International PeaceResearch Institute (SIPRI) anounced yesterday the list of the leading weapons producers
for 2008.
The British BAE Systems is on the top with sells of 32,4 billion USD, shifting the leader of 2007 Boeing from USA.
BAE Systems became leader mainly due to the increase of the sells in the American market.

At second and third place in the list of the top-producers are the American Lockheed Martin with 29,9 billion USD and Boeing with 29,2 billion USD.
The largest Russian company, Almaz-Antey, is at 19-th place. According to SIPRI, the first 100 weapons producers
have sold weapon for 385 billion USD in 2008, 11% more than in 2007.
