More about the gas export from Algeria to Europe
17.03.2009
By the end of 2013 Algeria will finance energy projects for about $63.5 billion. The energy Minister of Algeria Halib Kelly said that the state will spend considerable funds to promote the key sector of the country's trade balance. The major share of investments would be intended to develop new oil and gas wells and development of necessary infrastructure for the export of extracted raw materials. Algeria currently exports about 62 billion cubic meters of gas and if the planned projects are built in the period, this volume will grow to 100 billion cubic meters by 2015. Such growth will exceed the estimated 31 billion cubic meters of gas to be supplied by pipeline South Stream, which must be completed in 2015. In the past two months in the country there were four new gas fields opened and three others are currently checked and evaluated.
